Niara – Um juiz na tribo das águias – 2005

I met João Inácio in 1984, when he was directing a play about marriage and divorce. Since then he has been more a friend than a brother, we have a precious friendship. João Inácio has seen many things. He had dreams that became things that we can touch. He sold popcorn; he took photographs; he acted in theater; he was an chemistry technician. He stopped dreaming about other dreams when he met the Dream-of-dreams. Today, whatever he does, he does dreaming about Niara.

The story that follows started in his heart many years before. Niara did not have much definition, but it was a prophecy of what would happen in João’s life. It was necessary to wait, to suffer, to study a lot to understand a little more about this Niara dream. Niara is almost as to dream awake: you almost can see, you almost can touch. Actually, the more you dream about Niara, the more real it gets. It leaves the realm of dreams and becames an action. It is only in this way that it turns into more than a dream: Niara only becomes real if it goes beyond only words, beyond only dreams. Here it is, a story of the realm of dreams, of imagination. But it addresses the questions that you and I have today, in our day-to-day. Read this story, dream the dream. Go you too through the road of the People of the Way.
